Matteri Domain
History
Domaine cultivated for more than two centuries (existing in a form close to the current one since the 18th century), formerly known as Domaine Bouisse-Matteri, managed since 1994 by the Merle family (Bruno and Mariette, joined in 2007 by their son Thomas and then in 2013 by their daughter Fanny). In 2025, the estate was taken over by the Micellium impact investment group (founded by Patrice Lucas), which simplified its name to "Domaine Matteri" — a return to the historic appellation of the place where the winery is located — and embarked on a five-year transformation plan towards regenerative organic viticulture.
Winery of nearly 50 hectares located in Hyères (Var), between hills and sea at the gates of the Golden Islands. The estate relies on a team of twelve employees (agricultural engineers, oenologists, technicians) to develop a model of bio-regenerative viticulture in Provence.
The Vineyard
Rare soil mosaic (schist, clay-limestone, silt) between coastline and Var reliefs. Collection of rare heritage grape varieties of Provence, some of which have almost disappeared: Tibouren (emblematic of the Provençal rosé), Mourvaison (forgotten grape variety re-identified on the estate) and Rousseli (black grape variety vinified in white, naturally low in alcohol). Bio-regenerative viticulture aimed at the restoration of soils and biodiversity.
Certifications
Committed to regenerative organic viticulture (transformation in progress since 2025).
