Georges Vesselle

History

The story of Georges Vesselle is that of a man passionate about Champagne and its Champagne, whose life was devoted to his love for the vine, his village Bouzy, and his family. Died in 2009, he passed on to his two sons, Eric and Bruno, his art of living and his taste for vines and wine. Eric, production manager, takes care of the vineyard and ensures winemaking; Bruno is dedicated to commercial development and communication. Together, they blend the wines to create the different vintages. Since the end of 2024, Camille Vesselle, Eric's son, has joined the House, representing the 4th generation of the family. Graduated in viticulture and oenology, he is now involved in vineyards and wineries.

Between Reims and Epernay, Domaine Georges Vesselle is the result of ancestral know-how since the 16th century. Bouzy, where life is good, has about 380 hectares of vines facing south, at the foot of the Montagne de Reims. The Domaine's cellars are carved in chalk at a depth of 16m, with a constant temperature of 10°C all year round, ideal for perfect fermentation.

The Vineyard

Domaine Georges Vesselle's vineyard covers 18 hectares, with 90% of Pinot Noir — one of the pillars of the Maison's identity, renowned for its finesse and giving elegant, structured, long and powerful wines. The vineyard boasts the Grand Cru appellation (scale of Crus created in 1911; 4 Grand Crus originally classified including Bouzy, today 17 villages classified Grand Cru in Champagne). Bouzy is famous for its champagnes but also for its red wines (Coteaux Champenois), to the point of having married the name: Bouzy Rouge.

Certifications
