Château Sainte Croix
History
Family estate built on the former grounds of Thoronet Abbey, in Carcès (Var). Wine history began in 1924 when Fernand Pélépol bought the first 5 hectares of vines. Today, Florence and Stéphane Pélépol, the fourth generation of the family, continue the adventure and develop the estate, a precursor in the culture of muscat in the Var.
Winery of more than 50 hectares located between Lake Carcès and Thoronet Abbey, in the Côtes de Provence (Var). Château Sainte Croix offers several ranges of regularly awarded wines (Cuvée Prestige, Cuvée Sainte Croix, special vintages, PGI Var, Réserve des Anges, sparkling wines according to the Champagne method), two wine cellars (Carcès and Antibes), as well as guest rooms and an area dedicated to weddings and events.
The Vineyard
60-hectare vineyard in the Côtes de Provence appellation, with a climate conducive to a late ripening of grapes bringing finesse and elegance. 13 grape varieties cultivated: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rolle, Sémillon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Carignan, Tibouren, Clairette, Mourvèdre and Muscat. Mechanical and manual harvesting, bottling on the property. Domain in conversion to organic farming.
Certifications
In organic farming conversion (certification targeted in 2025). Wines regularly awarded medals in competitions.
